Fast forward to 2020, and that same mindset made its way to Central Texas. Fred and his three sons—better known as the Bilbo Brothers—set out to bring small-town integrity and old-school work ethic to the big city. What areas does Quality Cooling serve?
Six markets across Texas: Georgetown (where our headquarters are), Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, Abilene (serving the Big Country since 1984), and Brownwood. We have offices in Georgetown and Abilene, so our trucks are never far from any of these cities.
Is Quality Cooling actually family-owned, or is that just marketing?
We’re the real deal. Quality Cooling has been in Abilene since 1984, and the Bilbo family has been running it since 2000. Nobody bought us out, nobody manages us from out of state, and nobody tells us what to upsell. Fred and the Bilbo Brothers – same family, same standards, for 25 years.
Do you offer same-day service?
In most cases, yes. Same-day and next-day appointments are standard for us. If your system is completely down, especially in the middle of summer or a cold snap, we prioritize those calls. Emergency service is available 24/7 including weekends and holidays.
How much does a typical AC repair cost?
It depends on the problem, but most residential AC repairs fall between $150 and $600. We charge a diagnostic fee upfront, then give you the complete cost before any work begins. If the repair is going to be expensive enough that a replacement might make more sense, we’ll walk you through both options honestly. We’d rather you make an informed decision than a pressured one.
What brands do you work on?
All of them. Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, and every other major HVAC brand. We’ve been at this for over 40 years, so there isn’t much we haven’t seen. If it heats or cools your home, we can work on it.
What makes you different from the big companies?
Honestly? We answer our own phones, we show up when we say we will, and we don’t try to sell you a $15,000 replacement when a $200 repair will fix the problem. A lot of the big companies in this market have been acquired by investment groups in the last few years. They look local, but the decisions are being made somewhere else. We’re still here, still independent, and Fred still answers his phone.
